This book collects the work of people who seem to have attacked denim pieces with everything they could find at their local art supply store. Embroidery needles, feathers, buttons, and studs takes us back to a time when art was made by the everyday person. Though the book is distinctly from the 70s, the denim designs range from those for the straight up hippy-dippies to the Elvis-impersonators to the glam-rock superstars, and not a single piece is anything short of inspiring: this book is a denim dream.

Text by Peter Beagle. Photographs by Baron Wolman and the denim artists. Presented by Richard M. Owens and Tony Lane.
