Two weeks ago, we launched our new collaboration with New Era inspired by the pre-Fall and Fall/Winter men's collection prints: Flying Tigers, Tiger Heads and Clouds.
A second drop, inspired by our women's collection warriors characters, protected by the symbole of the eye, will be available in stores in October.
In the meantime, we asked 2 German photographers - KIRCHKNOPF + GRAMBOW - to produce a story gathering both sides of the project. This serie is very inspired by female asian warriors like Rani Lakshmibai, an indian rebel of the 19th century or Tomoe Gozen a female samurai in the 17th century. It's about the strength, will power and expression and not so much about gender. They also quote a book called "Hagakure", "The Way of the Samurai is one of immediacy, and it is best to dash in headlong. (...) One should make his decisions within the space of seven breaths. It is matter of being determined and having the spirit to break right through to the other side." And as the book continues "It is good to carry some powdered rouge in one´s sleeve. It may happen that when one is sobering up or waking from sleep, a samurai´s complexion may be poor. At such a time it is good to take out and apply some powdered rouge."
So it´s never a bad thing to wear a good looking armor !
If you want to know more about Kirchknopf + Grambow, an interview will be posted this week on KENZINE. Stay tuned !
