la cité du cinéma
Yesterday the show for women's Spring/Summer 2014 took place at La Cité du Cinéma.
Carol and Humberto chose the beautiful Cité du Cinéma in Saint-Denis and its 62,000 square-meters of space as the setting for our Women's Fall/Winter 2014 show.
Passionate about cinema and captivated by this unique place, they transformed la Cité du Cinéma into an aquatic temple and once again put on a show that broke away entirely from the traditional catwalks and runway shows of Paris Fashion Week.
This new complex dedicated entirely to the Seventh Art was created under the impetus of Luc Besson in 2004 and opened on September 21, 2012 after eight years of analyses and studies.
As someone who is deeply invested in solving the problems plaguing Paris' suburban areas, Luc Besson decided to build this "Hollywood on the Seine" north of Paris in the Pleyel neighborhood of Saint Denis at 20 rue Ampère, located between the area’s island, basilica and the Stade de France.
The Cité du Cinéma has completely revitalized this neighborhood, which had long been avoided by Parisians. They now are venturing here to experience its cafés and restaurants, as well as enjoy the trendy parties that have recently popped up, benefiting from its large spaces and proximity to the “City of Light.”
