MOOD OF THE WEEK #19 : PLACE DE LA RéPUBLIQUE
In our home-neighborhood in Paris there's been a long on-going construction project at the Place de Republique.
All around the center Monument à la République (a Marianne statue surrounded by the allegories of Liberty, Equality, Fraternity) by the Morice brothers, there's been tall walls for years, until finally, just in time for this summer, the walls and gates came down and the place was reopened. Much of the former car streets have been redirected and replaced with a big open stone where the local skateboarders, readers and gossipers come to enjoy their hobbies in the sunlight and beautiful view. It's a great new addition to our neighborhood - we'll see you there on our next day off!
