SKIES OF PARIS #1
After last season’s look at the various “jungles” of Paris, we now turn our direction upwards to share with you the city’s most beautiful views and vistas in the spirit of our Fall-Winter 2013 collection, which embodies a jungle of the skies bridging East and West, North and South, filled with clouds, warriors, pilots and flying tigers.
The first of these ten locations is the planetarium at the “Cité des Sciences de Paris”.
With its high-resolution equipment, the new planetarium boasts immersive 360° images. The sky opens up, revealing the solar system planet by planet. Audiences witness the birth of our world and the formation of the Earth, stars and the universe… Narrators from the world of science present lectures and 30-minute theatrical productions while a huge educational show blending images plunges spectators into outer space.
We have chosen the film "Entre terre et ciel… Lumière de la nuit" (Between heaven and earth… Nighttime lights), a spot-on compliment to the theme of our 2013 Fall-Winter collection.
The film tells the story of a mysterious lamppost lighter who sees lights in the night sky. What follows is an exploration of the polar lights on Earth then (zooming further and further outwards) the lights emanating from artificial satellites, the planets, shooting stars and the other billions of stars that make up our galaxy, the Milky Way.
